W(AV)E, 2021

When there are more than one, it can make wave and WE. For this work, 52 prints are used to visualize connectivity and the mylar reflects the light to disperse. Between W and E, the reflection of window makes portal to connect between letters.

 

My choice of color for prints is yellow, white and red. Yellow is the color of land, earth soil, ground  based on eastern astrology. Red represents fire and white does metal. I mixed white and red to make light pink to resonate the energy of entanglement.  The image I used in W ( A V ) E is one of my Gelora which I created with unknown found flower. Even people and things are anonymous, it can make movement of wave together. I manipulated the image into bitmap by photoshop. From 4 CMYK layers of the image, I selected magenta and cyan. Each images are engraved on wood using laser relief technique.
